Description

Responsible for semi-monthly payroll processing and journal entry creation;  ensure payroll transactions are processed correctly for time,  earnings,  bonuses,  paid time off,  deductions,  taxes,  garnishments,  and other items that affect pay and company liability.

Ensure each pay cycle and month-end close processes are processed accurately and on time.

Partner effectively with the Chief Finance and Operations Officer,  the Finance Manager,  and other cross-functional teams such as People &  Culture,  Accounting and Finance,  to record and process any needed changes to each pay cycle.

Responsibilities

Support the transition of payroll processing performed by a third-party,  to in-house processing

Develop and formalize payroll processing processes,  procedures,  and associated controls

Process associated payroll taxes and payment of employee benefits,  including all payroll and benefits invoice reconciliations;  review and verify quarterly and annual tax reconciliation reports including annual ACA reporting for payroll related items,  and the monthly audits in Paycom to ensure timeline and accurate reporting.

Provide knowledge to remain compliant on federal,  state or local changes impacting taxes,  deductions,  benefits deductions,  or pay and ensure adherence to legal requirements;  advise management.

Qualifications

1+  years of experience administering payroll,  and payroll systems.

Knowledge of payroll,  and processes including Federal and multi-state tax regulations.

3+  years of payroll software experience,  preferably Paycom system.

Detail-orientated with a passion for quality control and accuracy.

Ability to think and plan ahead and anticipate problems,  issues and provide solutions while managing hard deadlines.

Effective customer service skills;  able to break down complex processes into simple steps for users.

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
