Description

The Arts &  Culture Features intern will learn arts journalism and digital publishing skills by transforming podcast interviews and listener submissions into engaging written content.

What You’ll Learn

  • Arts journalism and features writing including research,  fact-checking,  and editorial standards
  • Basic web coding and/or markdown tools,  SEO,  and content management
  • Visual curation to enhance storytelling;  photo and video editing
  • Writing that inspires event attendance and community participation
  • Editorial workflows,  deadlines,  and consistent content production (aka time management)

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Based on I’m Into This Place podcast episodes,  write articles about the featured guests.  This includes your own byline.
  • Curate photos and videos.
  • Collect arts &  culture event listings,  writing short blurbs about why they’re of interest.
  • Take ownership of multiple web pages,  creating,  curating,  and uploading content each week.

Qualifications

I’m Into This Place is seeking self-motivated,  organized,  and creative interns to join the team producing a weekly podcast and multi-media arts journalism.  Our interns become part of the IITP family while benefiting Clark County as a whole.

IITP interns work primarily remotely,  but are an integral part of the production team.  Our ideal interns are willing to take ownership of their work,  hitting deadlines and proactively communicating when they need support or additional guidance.  Strong communication skills,  attention to detail,  eagerness to learn new tools,  and the ability to problem-solve are essential.  Our interns are passionate about supporting and growing arts &  culture in Clark County.
