Description

ANR Group Inc is recruiting students currently enrolled in Fire Protection Engineering  for a 2026 summer internship opportunity with Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration on the Hanford site in Richland,  WA.

This internship is open to students with Junior or Senior  class standing that can be available for a 12-to-14-week internship.  This position is a full-time,  40 hour per week internship.  The schedule is Monday-  Thursday,  6 a.m.  to 4:30 p.m.  The hourly rate for this position is $26.44 per hour for Juniors and $28.98 per hour for Seniors.

Duties:

Conducting Facility Fire Protection Assessments.   This will help the intern understand how one identifies the requirements and their basis with its implementation.  It will help with building communication and interface skills as well as giving the intern the skills required to navigate codes and standards.

Participating in facility (new or remodel projects)  design reviews.   This will give the intern the experience in reviewing specifications and drawings and making determinations if the intent of codes and standards is being integrated into the design.

Troubleshoot fire protection systems when they malfunction.  This will give the intern the experience in how to troubleshoot and identify causes for malfunctions,  and learn what is involved in correcting the system deficiency.

Conducting inspection,  testing,  and maintenance assessments on fire protection systems (i.e.,  sprinkler and fire alarm systems).  This will give the intern the exposure to inspection,  testing,  and maintenance (IT&M)  procedures and give them experience in learning where the IT&M criteria are found within the codes and the opportunity to identify gaps where the minimum IT&M criteria are not being implemented.

Conducting technical documents (e.g.,  reports,  analysis,  calculations)  reviews.  This will give the intern exposure to documents that provide a basis for design,  operation,  a deficiency,  and the opportunity to contribute to its content.
