Description

The primary objective of the Project Coordinator Internship  is to provide aspiring project managers with practical experience in various aspects of project management.  The intern will assist in coordinating projects,  updating plans and documentation,  drafting project charters,  and helping maintain project management templates and resources.  Through these tasks,  the intern will gain insights into project lifecycles,  stakeholder communication,  and STCU processes.

Responsibilities

1.  Project Coordination:

  • Assist project managers in coordinating project activities,  ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Liaise with team members to gather updates and facilitate communication between stakeholders.

2.  Project Documentation:

  • Take comprehensive meeting notes and maintain project documentation,  including meeting minutes,  action items,  and project plans.
  • Update project plans to reflect progress,  changes,  and milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers to draft project charters outlining project objectives,  scope,  deliverables,  and timelines.

3.  SharePoint and Deck Updates:

  • Maintain project SharePoint sites by updating documents,  files,  and resources for easy access by project team members.
  • Assist in preparing monthly project decks for stakeholders,  summarizing project progress,  risks,  and upcoming milestones.

4.  Support for SharePoint Site and Planning Template Maintenance:

  • Provide support in maintaining SharePoint site architecture,  ensuring it remains organized and accessible.
  • Assist in refining project planning templates to improve efficiency and standardization across projects.

Qualifications

Location:  Must currently live within commuting distance to STCU Headquarters,  located in Liberty Lake,  Washington.  No relocation assistance available. 

Hours:  40 hours per week summer with potential extension part-time through the end of the year

Duration:  Six months with the possibility of extension

Eligibility:  Minimum of junior standing (masters students ok)  and eligible for internship credit.

Applicable Major(s):  Currently pursuing a degree in project management,  business administration,  or a related field.  Enrollment in an MBA program is a plus.  Must be enrolled in school for the duration of the internship.

Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,  particularly Excel,  Word,  PowerPoint,  and SharePoint.
