About Us
The Vancouver Farmers Market (VFM)  is a nonprofit organization managing a large vibrant farmers market of over 270 small businesses in Downtown Vancouver,  Washington.  Our flagship year-round market is open on Saturdays and Sundays April -  October and on Saturdays November –  March and our satellite market is open on Thursdays in East Vancouver June –  September.  Operating since 1990,  the VFM is a hallmark of Vancouver and is well known and respected in the community,  welcoming over 500,000 shoppers a year.  The Vancouver Farmers Market has a wide range of programming focused on food access,  small business development,  and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and healthy eaters.

About this Position
The Administration &  Business Intern will work alongside the Executive Director and other Department Directors in support of the organizations in-office and administration needs. 

Status:  Part-time Internship,  20-weeks,  6 hours per week (120 hours total)
Compensation:  $18 per hour
Schedule:  June 3rd –  October 12th,  1 day per week (flexible)  10-4

Responsibilities

Duties &  Responsibilities

  • Assist with filing and record keeping.
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of corporate records.
  • Assist with production and assembly of Board of Director meeting materials.
  • Operate phone system and direct calls to proper person.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Basic inventory and replenishment of office supplies.
  • Support admin functions of Director of Operations and Director of Partnership &  Programs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Interests,  Abilities,  &  Physical Demands

  • Interest in how businesses or nonprofit organization’s function.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment (e.g.  printers,  copiers,  computers)
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to carry and move up to 40 pounds,  up and down stairs,  and up to 500 feet.
