At CPCCo,  located in Richland,  Washington,  we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau.  To achieve our mission,  we need exceptionally talented,  innovative,  and driven people to help us reduce risks on the Hanford Site by removing some of the most hazardous waste streams and facilities in the Department of Energy (DOE)  complex.  Through this internship,  you will work alongside professionals in areas of business,  engineering,  or science.  Internships are a great way to immerse yourself in CPCCo’s culture to see if we’re a good fit for you and your career goals.

Compensation &  Benefits

Hourly rate of $18.20 plus an additional $4.41 health &  welfare adder in accordance with the Service Contract Act.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities during this internship include,  but are not limited to,  the following:
•  Assist with setting up a “Green Catalog”  for sustainable procurement.
•  Create environmental/sustainability communication products,  e.g.,  We Mean Green or PZAC presentation slides,  etc.
•  Enter EMS records into the staging area of IDMS.
•  Update and create content for the EMS website.
•  Working with Environmental Compliance Officer,  provide documentation of walkdowns at various project sites.
•  Assist in compilation of document requests from regulatory agencies in support of inspections.

Qualifications

•  US Citizenship
•  Maintain a 2.5 GPA
•  Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the internship
•  Completed at least two quarters/semesters of college education prior to the internship
•  Enrolled as a full-time student (12+  credit hours)  during the two quarters/semesters immediately preceding the start of the internship.  **You may be required to submit an updated transcript prior to being considered for employment.
•  Working on the completion of a college degree in one of the following Engineering or Science disciplines:  Engineering:  Environmental,  Mechanical,  Nuclear,  or Project Management.  Science:  Sustainability,  Environmental,  and Geological.

This program is open to all students that meet the minimum qualifications.

Selection criteria is based on:
•  Grade point average.
•  Degree program matches scope of work.

This internship is in Richland,  WA;  the work site may be within the city limits or on the Hanford site.

Desired Qualifications:
•  Familiar with Microsoft Office software applications,  including Excel and Word
