Description

Are you working towards your BS in Computer Science with an emphasis in data and databases?  Will you have completed your Junior year of studies prior to the start of this internship?  If yes to both questions,  Benton PUD has a terrific opportunity for you!  We are seeking a highly motivated student that is excited to work on our Business Intelligence program with our IT Data Team for the Summer 2024 Internship. 

The primary purpose of this position is to introduce the student intern to Data Analytics and Data Management prior to the student’s graduation.  Under the direction of the District’s Data Professionals,  the student will perform small projects involving data analytics,  data validation and data visualization.  The selected intern will be a resource to the Data Team in multiple data project efforts. 

This is a full time,  non-exempt,  temporary position with an expected duration of 10 to 12 weeks over the Summer.  The position work schedule is 4-10’s (Monday -  Thursday).  Salary will depend on qualifications including any relevant past job experience and/or coursework completed.  There are limited benefits available with this position.  Time off will be allowed with approval for various summer activities.  Housing and transportation are NOT provided.

Benton PUD is looking for a student with the following:

Qualifications

Completion of third year/Junior year of studies towards a Bachelor of Computer Science degree,  with an emphasis in Data and Databases.

Microsoft Office,  including intermediate Excel and Word skills. 

Preferred

Completed courses with SQL and relational database systems. 

3.0 GPA or higher
