Description

Under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator,  the Facility Aide position is responsible for the maintenance,  attractiveness,  and longevity of the grounds and facilities of the Clark County Family YMCA.  The Aide will take an active role in recommending and carrying out maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance and cleaning checklists.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness and take necessary action to create a clean,  safe and friendly environment.
  • Ability to perform manual labor,  including bending,  stooping,  reaching,  lifting,  climbing,  working at heights,  and stand for periods up to 5 hours
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors with hazards associated with the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Self-motivated and capable of carrying out directions independently
  • Communicate effectively with leadership staff or supervisor regarding any concerns
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use a computer.
  • Prepare facility for use in morning or secure building for closing in evening
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

*PREFERENCE GIVEN TO INDIVIDUALS AFFILIATED WITH NEXT

AND VANCOUVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS*

  • Must pass YMCA background check
  • Valid driver license with driving record free from serious or frequent violations (preferred)
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certified,  or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Knowledge of basic operations of tools and maintenance equipment
  • Experience with mechanical,  structural,  plumbing,  pools,  and/or electrical engineering positions (preferred)
