GENERAL SUMMARY:
 
Our annual internship program exemplifies our commitment to developing the next generation of financial professionals.  It also provides our existing staff an opportunity to mentor interns and leverage their experience to aid in the personal and professional growth of selected candidates.  Our 12-week paid program is designed to help individuals find their niche in the world of finance.
 
STATEMENT OF EXPECTATIONS:
Community First Bank/HFG Trust expects all employees to comply with the responsibilities of their assigned position to the highest degree of performance by:
·        Adhering to the Company’s policies and supporting Management decisions and goals in a positive,  professional manner.
·        Representing the Company with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of banking rules,  regulations,  laws,  and all policies and procedures pertaining to them including but not limited to,  the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)  Regulation E and Regulation CC.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
  • Possessing a work ethic that includes neatness and dependability.
  • Exhibiting a professional,  business-like appearance and demeanor.
 
 
KNOWLEDGE,  SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 
·        Knowledge and experience with operating a computer,  calculator,  and other general office equipment.
·        Excellent social and communication skills:
o   Use professional and clear verbal communication skills.
o   High quality writing skills,  using accurate word usage,  grammar,  spelling,  and punctuation in all written correspondence.
o   Ability to add,  subtract,  multiply,  and divide,  using whole numbers,  and decimals.  Ability to compute rate,  ratio,  and percent.
o   Use professional phone etiquette,  including tone and volume of voice.
  • Ability to multi-task,  work in a fast paced,  changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to follow policies,  procedures,  and written instructions,  as well as verbal instructions or directions from his/her supervisor.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
·        Understands the overall concept of the company,  including the brand,  customer,  product goals,  and all other aspects of service.
·        Rotates through our divisions of responsibility and provides ideas to grow and improve the business.
·        Accepts designated,  business-focus projects to research,  propose ideas and solutions.
·        Engages with customers or clients and provides service and/or sales.
·        Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.
·        Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
·        Assists in creating performance reports
·        Fulfills tasks set out by supervisors from several departments.
·        Perform research at a supervisor’s request.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 
Our goal of becoming our clients’  Financial Partner for Life requires an insatiable desire to provide world-class customer service and an unparalleled client experience.  This requires continuous education and application of sound financial advice by each of our staff members.  Our interns must also exemplify this mindset with a willingness to continuously learn,  absorb,  and apply new information.  We are looking for high-energy,  humble,  and fiduciary-minded candidates who fit this mold.

·        Resume.
·        Two (2)  references.
·        Have obtained or are pursuing (Junior status or higher)  a degree in finance,  accounting,  or economics.
·        Ability and willingness to relocate for internship at the Community First Bank locations for 12 weeks.
