Description

The Disruptive Technology group focuses on emerging technologies by integrating capability across electromagnetics,  systems modeling,  algorithm development,  and systems design to serve as flywheel for feeding technology advancements into capabilities across the division and laboratory.  Projects within the group range from highly applied projects in support of national security to fundamental science projects.

The DT group is seeking an electrical engineering or computer science student to contribute to a wide variety of research and development efforts involving electromagnetics sensing.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will work as a technical contributor under the guidance of scientists and engineers,  and will be responsible for performing the following technical tasks:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Interest and enthusiasm for working on diverse projects that will demand the development of new skills

  • Strong record of academic and job performance

  • Build reputation through application of scientific and engineering principles and theories and developing technical approaches to solve challenges.

  • Effectively team to share resources and optimize research.

  • Assist with the development of new capabilities within the group

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university.  Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.

U.S.  citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interested in electronics/RF/computers

  • Experience programming in C++  and Python

  • Experience with Windows and Linux

  • Prefer local community college and university student

Preferred Education

Studying for degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.  Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher preferred.
