Position Summary:

AWB is seeking an intern to assist the AWB Communications Department.  The right candidate should be organized and have an interest in helping our diverse membership of employers tell their stories.

Projects may require team collaboration or individual initiative.  The selected candidate should be a self-starter who’s able to manage their time across multiple short and long-form projects while meeting deadlines without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

Completers of this internship should expect to learn about and contribute to a wide range of projects across multiple digital media and marketing platforms,  including:

  • Video/  audio production
  • Graphic design
  • Social media content creation
  • Email marketing
  • Website maintenance
  • AP style writing

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be enrolled in one of the following college programs:  general communications,  strategic communications,  marketing,  public relations,  advertising,  or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of common social media platforms.
  • Strong understanding of video conferencing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of computer functionality (PC and mac),  including digital file types and sizes,  and file organization across local and shared drives.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite,  with working knowledge of Photoshop and Premiere Pro
    • Knowledge of After Effects,  Illustrator,  InDesign,  Media Encoder,  Dreamweaver and Audition is a plus
  • Experience using WordPress
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (i.e.,  Mailchimp)
  • Familiar with project management platforms (i.e.,  Asana)
  • Familiar with writing for video with adherence to plain speak
