Description

The Communications Intern will learn various aspects of applicable marketing materials/media and the overall fundraising to achieve the organization’s mission.  Under the direction of the Communications Coordinator/Development Director,  the Communications Intern will be assigned tasks within the communications and marketing functions of the organization.
This is a non-paid intern position.  Work days and hours are dependent upon the needs of the organization and as approved by the Development Director.  It is anticipated to start at 8+  hours per week and increase to 10-20 based upon needs.  This position has the potential to result in a paid summer position.

Responsibilities

Social Media:  Assist in the creation of written content to promote on Facebook,  Instagram,  Twitter,  and YouTube.  Monitor and research influencers,  trending topics,  and tools.  General social media planning,  research,  reporting,  and coordination as assigned.
Photo and Video Edit and format photos for social media and web.  Assist in creating and editing videos for RMHC INW marketing channels.  Videos may range from one-and-a-half minutes to eight minutes.
Website Regularly update and ensure functionality for active pages maintained by RMHC INW
Marketing Materials Assist with the design of flyers,  graphics,  e-vites,  and other marketing material for RMHC INW.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (or higher)  degree in Marketing,  Communications,  or have relevant experience.  Those in junior or senior year are preferred.
Basic graphic design skills and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud also preferred.
Must have reliable transportation as well as ability to drive light duty vehicle(s).
