Position Summary:

The Student Associate supports various departments,  including but not limited to administration,  shipping,  receiving,  stockroom,  and manufacturing,  and provides basic janitorial and facilities maintenance.  Hours of work are Monday through Friday 12:30 p.m.  to around 5:30 p.m.  Quality and productivity standards are critical requirements of the position.  This position is located at company headquarters in Kennewick,  WA.

Responsibilities

Key Duties /  Responsibilities:

  • Input customer information in FedEx system;  then package customer orders following documented specifications
  • Perform various stockroom duties following documented processes and instructions,  to include:  order picking for accurate order fulfillment,  material handling and stocking tasks
  • Complete assembly of assigned Cadwell sub-assemblies and final assemblies,  using hand tools and electronic tooling
  • Perform various janitorial duties to include:  empty garbage cans,  sweep and mop work areas,  removes snow,  and other assigned tasks
  • Perform various facilities duties to include:  move office furniture,  assemble chairs/desks,  hang items on walls,  and other assigned tasks
  • Critical success factors include reliability,  accuracy,  timely completion of tasks,  following instructions
  • Perform other duties as requested,  directed,  or assigned

Qualifications

Education /  Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Actively pursuing college degree
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

Job Knowledge /  Requirements:

  • Must develop knowledge of Stockroom basics,  including interpret packing lists,  accurate data entry
  • Basic knowledge of stockroom equipment,  including use of hand truck and pallet jack
  • Basic skills for electronic assemblies,  such as hand soldering,  wire crimping,  basic hand tool usage,  use of appropriate electronic instrumentation inspection,  and part number interpretation;  read and interpret assembly drawings
  • Basic competency in computer skills:  MS Office (MS Word,  Excel)  and Google applications,  and database systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills,  including receiving,  understanding and following oral and written instructions,  information,  procedures and schematics
  • Complete tasks as directed with minimal supervision,  with precision and within defined schedule
  • Work both independently and as an effective member of the team
  • Critical success factors include attention to detail,  receive and follow instructions and assignments,  and meet given priorities and deadlines
  • Must develop knowledge of Cadwell products,  and their parts and assemblies

Physical Requirements /  Working Conditions:

  • General manufacturing positions may require some reaching,  bending,  stooping,  squatting,  crawling,  kneeling,  pushing,  pulling,  lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds,  finger dexterity,  repetitive motions,  standing,  walking,  sitting,  hearing,  visual acuity,  color vision,  and 2-way written/verbal communication.  More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.

  • Work assigned shifts on Monday through Friday,  12:30 to 5:30 pm;  overtime may be required to meet business needs
